Municipality of Eilat

Mission Cities and Grant Officer

Salomé Zajbert is a Red Sea activist working to make Eilat plastic-free and climate neutral by 2030. She collaborates with the Eilat Municipality, EcoPeace Middle East, Seanovation, and the Ardag Aquaculture and Biotechnology Center, contributing to municipal climate action planning, grant writing, ocean literacy, blue economy, community engagement, and environmental peacebuilding. Through EcoPeace’s ShaRED Sea program - endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade - Salomé has led cross-border community initiatives in Eilat and Aqaba to reduce marine plastic pollution, working closely with local businesses to help them adopt more eco-responsible practices. Her work has directly contributed to raising over €1.5 million to support Eilat’s green transition and marine conservation efforts. She is also Peace Boat US Youth for the SDGs program fellow, and is deeply committed to advancing climate justice and cooperation in the Red Sea region.
