Nicolas Arnaud is a CNRS research professor and geologist specialising in tectonics and isotopic geochronology. He has led the Mediterranean Environmental Research Observatory and served as Vice-President of the University of Montpellier 2. Since 2018, he has directed the CNRS National Institute for Earth Sciences and Astronomy (INSU), overseeing national and international research in geosciences, oceanography, and astronomy.
