Director General
ann-Hervé De Roeck is a French engineer and oceanographer with a distinguished career in marine science and renewable energy. He currently serves as Director General of Euro-Argo ERIC, the European research infrastructure for ocean observation, where he oversees the coordination of in situ ocean monitoring across 12 member countries.

Trained at École Polytechnique and École des Ponts et Chaussées, with a PhD in numerical analysis from Université Paris-Dauphine, De Roeck began his career at Ifremer in 1991. There, he contributed to projects in geophysics, hydrodynamics, and coastal oceanography, including the development of the PREVIMER forecasting system.

From 2010 to 2022, he was Executive Director of France Energies Marines, a public-private institute supporting R&D in offshore renewable energy. In 2021, he was appointed Chair of the Technology Collaboration Programme for Ocean Energy (TCP/OES), representing France in international efforts to advance marine energy technologies.
