Joaquín Tintoré is a research professor at CSIC (IMEDEA) and Director of SOCIB, the Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System. With a PhD in Physical Sciences, his work focuses on ocean variability, extreme events, and sustainable ocean and coastal management. He has published over 200 scientific articles, led 69 national and international projects, and received the Alejandro Malaspina National Research Award. Committed to science with societal impact, his efforts align with the UN 2030 Agenda and the Ocean Decade.
