Dr. Alessandra Cacciari is a Programme Officer at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS), contributing to the Copernicus Earth Observation programme. She holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Ferrara and has extensive experience in remote sensing and atmospheric composition. Before her current role, she worked at EUMETSAT as a Remote Sensing Scientist, focusing on operational processing and product development for Metop/GOME-2 Level 1. Her career also includes positions at CGS SPA, OHB CGS, and RHEA Group, where she was involved in software engineering and aerosol product development. Dr. Cacciari has also served as an external expert evaluator for the European Commission's Research Executive Agency, assessing proposals related to atmospheric composition and Earth observations.
