Léa David is a scientific expert on cetaceans (whales and dolphins) specializing in marine ecology for conservation. She studies topics such as species distribution, population status, threats, and the impacts of human activities. She serves as an advisor and/or member of scientific committees for several organizations, including the Pelagos Sanctuary, ACCOBAMS (an intergovernmental agreement on cetaceans), and the Calanques National Park. She also trains others in field research on cetaceans and raises awareness among all audiences about respecting the sea and its inhabitants.
